Apple Tries To Win Over The Indie Crowd With Dedicated App Store Section
Mustered cynicism aside, it’s great to see smaller developers get some long overdue acclaim. Undersized and often underfunded, the indie scene is rapidly becoming the very life blood of the industry.

The ‘Indie Game Showcase’ page’s mission statement,

"Often made up of just a few dedicated members, independent studios prove that what really matters is the size of your dream. In each Indie Game Showcase, we celebrate a popular game and its creative team, highlighting the developer's titles along with their favourite games from other studios,”

Ah Bless.

The first such showcase is dedicated to Simogo. This wee development house pumped out both the critically acclaimed Year Walk and more recently, the 2013 GOTY contender, Device 6, a narrative heavy puzzler.

The frequency with which this showcase will change remains unknown. But given the activity across the other App Store sections, once a week is a safe bet.
