When Apple first announced its smartwatch, it said that the wearable would be released early in 2015. While many thought this would mean January or February, a new report suggests that it could be March at the earliest before we get our hands on the eagerly awaited wearable.
Apple Senior Vice President of Retail and Online Stores, Angela Ahrendts, outlined the timeframe to retail employees in a video message, which was subsequently leaked to 9to5Mac. Ahrendts said, “We’re going into the holidays, we’ll go into Chinese New Year, and then we’ve got a new watch launch coming in the spring.” Chinese New Year will fall on February 19th next year.
Unfortunately this means that the Apple Watch will miss out on being the perfect Valentine’s Day gift. Spring begins on March 20th and lasts until June. Apple never explicitly said what “early 2015” is, so late March could be right on schedule.
