Apple's App Store sets new revenue record in July
The App Store had an immensely successful month in July with record-setting revenue numbers, according to Apple.

The company also said that the App Store saw a record number of customers making transactions in July. So, while Apple may be facing stiff competition from rival smartphone and tablet manufacturers, the App Store’s performance isn’t suffering in the slightest.

Apple CEO Tim Cook told CNBC after the announcement that he was delighted with the results posted by the company. He said, “I couldn't be happier. This is the best execution of any quarter since I've been at Apple.”

The company looks set to build upon this success in the near future. The iPhone 6 is predicted to be announced on September 9th and may be released as soon as September 19th. This will coincide with the release of iOS 8.
