Researchers from the Freie Universtat Berlin developed an Autonomous Kinect Electric Wheelchair, boasting unique mobility.

Composed of a netbook, custom software and Microsoft Kinect, the wheelchair propels itself to preselected waypoints, while Kinect scans the path ahead for any obstructions, avoiding them without the need for human intervention.
