Apple has an interesting time ahead of it. They've got two new versions of the iPhone on the way (allegedly) and several new iterations in the MacBook line. And they could also be about to shake up their iPad range.
According to a report from Bloomberg, Apple could be planning to launch an extra large 12.9 inch version of the iPad in 2015which may or may not be dubbed the iPad Pro. That's a clear indication that these devices will be more targeted at business customers, especially as the price range is likely to be considerably higher than the current 7.9 and 9.7 inch versions.
The iPad Pro would be basically the same size as the screen on the 12inch MacBook Pro and coupled with a keyboard would have a fairly similar profile. The larger screen would be useful for presentations and design work though much less portable then the existing versions of the iPad.
This rumour arrives at a time when interest in the iPad is at its lowest yet, with falling sales and no new product launched for quite a while. As Apple moves into bigger territory with the iPhone (4.7 inch and 5.5 inch versions are being prepped to launch later this year) the company obviously sees increased scale as a way to capture new areas of the market.
Expect more news on new Apple products at IFA on the 9th of September 2014.
