Ever hit ‘Send’ and then realised your message is on the way to the wrong person? Well, if you use BlackBerry Messenger, you will be able to retract the message, provided they haven’t read it first.
Head of product and brand marketing for BBM, Jeff Gadway, introduced the new privacy features on BlackBerry’s blog. He said that these features give customers “more control over the messages and content that they share, so they can communicate with more discretion and freedom than ever before.”
BBM users will also be able to set a Snapchat-like time limit for messages. This will allow them to tailor how long contacts have access to messages and pictures shared in a chat; perfect if you plan to gossip about a mutual acquaintance. It should be noted that both features do not affect screenshots, so you still need to be somewhat careful about what you send.
BlackBerry’s latest update is now rolling out, though Gadway mentioned that it may take 24 hours or more for the update to appear in your app store.
