The BlackBerry Assistant is going to be available on all BlackBerry 10 devices with the rollout of the OS 10.3.1 update.
The Assistant aims to make you more productive and will help you out with a variety of tasks, including locating information. A number of other features are also included in the update. BlackBerry Blend, for example, lets you access files from your phone when using a PC or Mac, as well as on an Android or iOS device. Notifications from your BlackBerry phone can also appear on other devices.
Those bemoaning BlackBerry’s lack of native apps will be pleased to hear that the update adds the Amazon Appstore. Users will be able to download or purchase a variety of Android apps.
The new OS update also adds keyboard shortcuts for QWERTY phones, UI tweaks, and the possibility of additional battery life via power saving settings.
OS 10.3.1 came preinstalled on the BlackBerry Classic, and now those with other BlackBerry 10 phones can enjoy new functionality and features.
The OS 10.3.1 update includes the following:
BlackBerry Hub with Instant Actions
Time Saving Keyboard Shortcuts
More Battery Power with new Power Saving Profile
New Camera Functions, including HDR, Time Shift, and more
New Calendar Meeting Mode
