Broadcast GoPro footage from your iPhone with Livestream's app

Livestream updated its iOS app to enable anyone to broadcast video from GoPro Hero cameras using their iPhone.

Provided you have internet access, the process of broadcasting hair-raising and adrenaline fuelled footage is easier than ever. All you need is your GoPro camera and the Livestream app for iOS. The app itself was developed and tested in collaboration with extreme sports athlete Chris "Douggs" McDougall on wingsuit base jumps in Switzerland.

Chief executive of Livestream, Max Haot, said this was an often requested feature. He told CNet, “We've received hundreds of requests to add this kind of capability. People try to hack it and live-stream GoPro to a computer, but obviously a computer is not an appropriate thing to carry in an action sport.”

There’s no word of GoPro support on Android devices just yet, though. We wouldn’t be surprised if this feature is implemented on Android in the near future, so stay tuned for more updates.

The Livestream app can be downloaded, for free, from the iTunes store.
