Lenovo has announced the impending arrival of four brand new budget friendly tablets aimed to bring the touch-screen revolution to the masses. Dubbed the A-Series, each of the four devices are quite similar, differing mainly in terms of screen size, but with pricing that should top out at under $300, it's looking like an intriguing proposition for thrifty tech fans.
The A7-30 and A7-50 both feature 7 inch displays, meaning that they'll likely be pitted against Google's Nexus 7 and Apple's (much more expensive) iPad Mini when they launch. Currently, only a UK price has been announced, but at just £100 (roughly USD$166) it definitely looks like good value for money.
Moving up through the devices, the A8 will feature an 8 inch screen and the A10 a 10.1 inch display, with the latter priced tentatively at £170 (USD$282). The A7-30 is the only device not to feature a HD display or camera, but the other three tablets do, while also boasting front and rear-facing cameras.
In the company's press release, Lenovo's vice president Shao Tao said:
With these latest additions to our tablet portfolio, we’ve introduced devices that speaks directly to each consumer’s habits, whether it’s enjoying music, reading e-books or watching videos on the go.Our Android family of tablets will appeal to users around the world as we’ve built our products to be highly flexible to serve multiple needs and budgets.
