The upcoming Consumer Electronics Show will feature a variety of home technologies that should make our lives easier.
Not only is technology ever-present in almost all aspects of life, but connectivity is growing. In recent years, we have seen users able to control thermostats and other household devices from their smartphone. Expect to see more evidence of this during the show.
Karen Chupka of the Consumer Electronics Association, which organizes the annual event, said that the ‘Internet of Things’ is the big thing in technology at the moment. Chupka said, “It's all about the opportunity to connect everyday items like cars, home security systems and kitchen appliances to networked devices like PCs and smartphones for greater control and management of our everyday lives."
Also on show will be the latest and greatest in TV technology. 4K televisions are starting to gain a foothold as their prices drop and we may soon see the introduction of 8K screens. Curved and bendable screens will also be on display, while foldable screens may make an appearance.
2015 promises to be a big year for connected life and home technology. Expect to see what the industry has to offer at CES from January 6-9.
