Microsoft could add its virtual assistant, Cortana, to a Windows 10 preview build, but it’s unlikely to be available to consumers.
The company may release a consumer preview of Windows 10 in January, but the latest rumour is that Cortana will arrive in a completely separate preview. Microsoft, according to CNET’s sources, is planning to release Tech Previews every month from January until March and will have further releases thereafter.
But these Tech Previews will be a separate entity to the rumoured consumer preview, meaning we still won’t get to try out certain features for ourselves.
Microsoft is expected to show off its Windows 10 progress and talk about its various versions at a Windows event, which is likely to take place towards the end of January.
