Derren Brown's Ghost Train uses VR for extra scares

The idea is almost too scary - illusionist Derren Brown teaming up with roller coaster folks Thorpe Park and the emerging world of virtual reality for the ultimate experience in terror.

Derren Brown's Ghost Train is a new multimedia ride which has just opened at Thorpe Park in Surrey. It has been in the works for the last three years and just constructing the ride itself on its own unique island took a whole year.

Brown is a master of what he does and the idea of him being able to use a mixture of techniques including live actors and environments as well as the direct access of virtual reality right into our eyes and ears is pretty thrilling and terrifying. You can find out more about what actually happens in the ride if you scout around online but this feels like something which will work best without spoilers.
