Facebook is already a huge part of many people's lives but that doesn't mean the company is done developing yet.
In fact, their Artificial Intelligence department is constantly working on new ways to innovate in the social media space. And one such application would be tracking your online activity to make sure you really, really want to upload that drunken selfie you took at 3 in the morning.
Facebook's AI Research Lab head honcho YannLeCun would see the role of Facebook as being like an 'intelligent digital assistant' - using all of the data it has on you to help streamline your everyday life. In this case, it would use the information it has from previous photos, as well as from the current snap, to determine whether its the kind of thing you want the entire world to be aware of.
That's just one example of the kind of interactions we can expect as Facebook grows in scale and complexity. With the wealth of information we upload to Facebook, it might not be long before it starts to have real benefits for users.
