Facebook developing app for TV

Facebook is currently working on a video app for television with the goal of publishing its own TV shows and content, according to an article from The Wall Street Journal.

The video app is thought to be similar in form and function to Netflix, allowing users to browse and watch a variety of original and licensed content.

Facebook is reportedly speaking with several media companies about the app and is believed to have tasked CollegeHumor co-founder Ricky Van Veen with licensing content from established sources.

The app is expected to be all-video and will likely be used in part as an advertising platform by Facebook.
