Facebook testing News Feed sorted by topic

Facebook testing News Feed sorted by topic

Facebook continues to experiment with tweaks to its News Feed. This time, it is testing a method of sorting the News Feed based on topics.

The trial is rolling out in Australia and shows a selection of topics at the top of a user's News Feed. Clicking on this compiles stories relating to that topic into the one feed. It has been noted that you'll see stories from friends and family, and pages you follow, as well as pages that you don't.

Facebook is offering some default topics to start, such as Animals & Pets, Politics, Travel, TV & Movies and Relationships. You can also add or remove topics to better fit your interests.

Facebook is yet to say if this News Feed experiment will be rolled out elsewhere.
