YouTube may rack up over 4 billion views in a single day but Facebook isn't doing so badly with their stats already hitting a billion video views.
This info comes as Facebook decides to roll out statistics on their videos. A new update which will go live shortly will list the number of views of natively uploaded video next to the likes and comments list below a post. It's something that has been strangely missing from the platform, especially as video virality becomes a bigger deal for the entire internet.
Video publishers will also be getting new metrics and controls in the near future, pointing to some significant changes on the horizon for how we view native videos on Facebook. So you should probably expect to soon be getting embedded ads on the platform. Joy.
Look for the viewcounter to appear on your desktop and mobile versions of Facebook very soon.
