Facebook will livestream Manchester United v Everton today

Facebook will stream its first professional football match today through Facebook Live.

The match in question will be the pre-season testimonial between Manchester United and Everton. It will be available to watch on both Manchester United’s and Wayne Rooney’s Facebook pages.

The profits generated from the livestreams will go to the Wayne Rooney Foundation.

We’re starting to see more sports being streamed legitimately online. YouTube showed this year’s Champions League and Europa League finals live, and Twitter has some livestreaming plans in the works with partners such as Major League Baseball, the National Football League and the National Hockey League.

The match between Manchester United and Everton gets underway at 7:15 tonight. You can watch the match live on Wayne Rooney’s and Manchester United’s Facebook pages.
