Force Touch will make its debut on the Apple Watch, but a new rumour suggests that it could feature on a variant of the next generation iPhone.
Force Touch is a new technology that differentiates between levels of pressure on a display. It will be used for navigating the upcoming Apple Watch. And industry sources told UDN that Force Touch will also be used on the iPhone 6S Plus.
There are supposedly going to be three versions of the next iPhone, but only the largest may feature this technology. This would be one distinguishing feature that would give the iPhone 6S Plus an edge over its smaller counterparts. But there may be a hefty price tag attached to it. It will cost Apple 2.5 times as much to equip the iPhone 6S Plus with Force Touch as it does for the Apple Watch thanks to the screen size differential.
Expect much speculation and plenty of leaks from “people familiar with the projects” or “industry sources” in the coming months. We will keep you up to date with the speculation, but the only features and specs to believe wholeheartedly will be the ones released by Apple.
