The OnePlus 3 has been earning a lot of attention for its high quality specs and mid range price, but can it really compete with a flagship at twice the price?
This video compares the camera performance of the OnePlus 3 to the Samsung Galaxy S7 - widely considered to be the best phone around right now.
It's a pretty helpful real world test that shows how each of these phones perform in relatively normal circumstances. And the result seems to be that the OnePlus 3 holds up pretty well when it comes to still images, and that certainly makes it the best camera the company has produced yet.
Video is another matter and we've been hearing some very mixed reports in this area. The artifacts in the image kind of defeat the purpose of shooting at 4K and there's a stuttering motion to the hardware optical image stabilisation which is very ugly. We've also heard that the audio performance in video mode is particularly disappointing.
It should come as no surprise that the S7 wins out overall but it's a handset that could cost as much as €700 sim free while you can nab the OnePlus 3 for less than €400 right now. That makes the comparison a lot more complicated.
