Gigabyte has officially announced its 11.6-inch
X11 laptop and claimed the title of “lightest notebook on earth” in the meantime. The X11 weighs just 975g (34.4oz) and clocks in at 16.5mm (0.65-inches) to 3mm (0.19-inches). The body itself is made of real carbon fiber, which helps in the weightlessness category, and features an aluminium hinge. The system packs 3rd Generation Intel Core Processors, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, Intel HD Graphics 4000 and 128GB of hard drive space. A 1.3 megapixel webcam comes included as part of the delay as standard.
No information has been released regarding availability and when the X11 will be released to the various regions. It is expected that it will cost between $999 and $1299 with Windows 7 Home Premium and Professional in tow.
