The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has been a big hit for the company, with a celebrated camera, great battery life and high performance specs. And that's the kind of good news that the Korean tech giants are going to want to perpetuate in the wake of the Note 7 fiasco.
And so it comes to pass, as there's a new look model on the way very soon. After a few rumours images of a glossy black S7 Edge have shown up online. It actually seems like a Samsung employee shared them on their own Weibo page. Which is a bit weird.
Here's the new model with the original version for comparison.
It looks very much like the same phone though the glossy cover might be the kind of thing which people might want as a fashion statement. These kinds of coatings can be real fingerprint magnets but they sure do look pretty when they're clean.
I'd say it looks better from the front, where the screen and the bezel blend into one inscrutable monolith of a phone.
The word is that this new version will be available before Christmas, in case you were planning on spending a serious amount of cash on a shiny smartphone.
