Google and Intel Set Chrome OS Press Conference for May 6th
Unexpected conference could see major announcement...

Both Google and Intel have announced that they’ll be holding a joint press conference next week, on May 6th, which will focus on the Chrome operating system, however neither party has given any additional information as to what the conferences may be used to announce.

With both companies well versed in the world of Chromebooks and Chrome OS, Google for obvious reasons and Intel as manufacturer of chips for many of the most popular Chrome-based devices, it’s possible that we may see an announcement about a new partnership between the companies, or perhaps a brand new platform or variant on the platform developed by both parties.

With Intel’s Navin Shenoy set to attend, it’s unlikely that the announcement will be a small one, so speculation is mounting as to what the companies have got up their sleeves.

Since their introduction, Chromebooks have seen massive popularity among the public, with their sales surpassing those of traditional PCs, highlighting the desire for low-cost cloud-based devices that take advantage of increased internet speeds and bandwidth.
