According to global market research agency Millward Brown, Google’s value increased by 40% year-on-year to topple Apple, who had sat at the top of the illward Brown’s BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands ranking for the past three years. Apple, on the other hand, saw its value drop by 20% to $148 billion. Another technology giant, IBM, rounded out the top three with a brand value of $108 billion.
Facebook clocked in at 21st with a brand value of $36 billion, while fellow social networks Twitter ($14 billion) and LinkedIn ($12 billion) ranked 71st and 78th respectively.
Looks like Google’s predicted buyout of Twitch for $1 billion in cash is just a drop in the ocean.
