Google Camera App Now Available on Play Store
Android owners no longer need to wait for their device manufacturers to update their proprietary camera software...

If you've grown tired of waiting for your handset manufacturer to get its finger out and update its software for your device's built-in camera, then you're in for some good news, as Google has finally added the stock Android Google Camera app to the Google Play Store for download.

The app, which has been a staple of the Android environment for a while now, will allow users to bypass any custom camera software installed by their phone's manufacturer, while taking advantage of regular updates and feature additions.

To celebrate the app's availability, Google has also added a number of sweet features that should help convince users to make the move, including post shot backgrond blurring, 360 degree images at resolutions of up to 50MP, an improved viewfinder that now shows an exact representation of how the photo will look once it's been captured and an improvement to the built-in panorama functionality.

If you're looking to make the move over to the Google Camera app, you'll need to have a device that's running at least Android 4.4 KitKat.
