Google confirms Pixel follow-up

Google is working on a follow-up device to its Pixel smartphone, as revealed by senior vice president of hardware at Google Rick Osterloh in an interview with AndroidPIT.

Osterloh confirmed that a new Google Pixel smartphone model will be released at some point this year, and that like the original Pixel the new device will also be premium priced.

Speaking about the new model, Osterloh said:

‘You can count on a successor this year, even if you don't hear a date from me now.’

The Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones were first released in October of last year and have generally received positive reviews and feedback from users.
