Google Will Now Label Sites as Mobile Friendly

Have you got a great mobile site? Well soon you might actually get the kudos you deserve straight from Google!

In the near future, the massive search engine will be adding a field in search results for sites that are 'Mobile Friendly.' The kinds of functionality they look fo includes a text size which makes it readable without extra zooming and links which are easy to hit with the most gnarled of fingers.

Not requiring a Flash player will also be a badge of honour (as it famously doesn't work at all on Apple devices and Android doesn't far too well these days either) and other criteria - with the company considering adding the field as a part of a sites Google Search Rank.

This is great news for users on a day to day basis but should also force companies to pull up their socks when it comes to the mobile version of their site, with many still having serious issues on smaller screens.
