Google's Duo will soon offer audio-only calls

Google recently launched Duo, a video calling app, and say that it will soon give users to ability to make audio-only calls.

Google's product lead for communication, Amit Fulay, wrote on his Google Plus page that the feature is “coming soon.” That’s pretty much as much info as he gave when prompted by a Google Plus user.

Duo currently turns video calls into audio-only calls when the connection isn’t strong enough for broadcasting video, but there’s no way to start an audio-only call manually.

The inclusion of audio-only calls seems like a natural step to take, especially as high-speed broadband isn’t available everywhere just yet.
