GS5 Praised for Free Anti-Theft Features
Samsung’s latest flagship handset, the Galaxy S5 will sport a pair of opt-in anti-theft devices. Find My Mobile allows users to track their devices location while Reactivation Lock requires the owner’s private information to reset the phone to factory settings.

This has gone down well in the US. Eric Schneiderman and George Gascon, New York and San Fran D.A.’s respectively said,

"The decision ... to provideSamsung'sFind My Mobile and Reactivation Lock features on Galaxy S5 smartphones and to allow those features to be activated for free is a step forward in our effort to ensure the industry makes effective theft deterrents available on every smartphone sold in America,"

However this pair, alongside Boris Johnson of the Secure Our Smartphone initiative are still,

"concerned that consumers will need to opt in to the system, thereby limiting the ubiquity and effectiveness of the solution."
