Has Apple Maps Found Nessie?

Has Apple Maps Found Nessie?
Is this proof at last that the Loch Ness Monster is real?

Despite the fact that Apple's Maps software has more often than not been the butt of many jokes, particularly in the immediate aftermath of the company ditching Google Maps as the built-in mapping software on its iOS devices, it looks as though it may have done the impossible and captured a glimpse of the fabled LochNess Monster!

Eagle-eyed observers of the software caught a glimpse of something strange lurking just beneath the surface of the lake, located in Scotland, and were quick to flag it online. With a lack of a better explanation for what looks like a creature, many have jumped upon the idea that it is, in fact, Nessie.

Speaking with ABC News, Glen Campbell, founder and president of the Official Loch Ness Monster Fan Club, was optimistic that it could prove to be photographic evidence that the creature actually exists, saying:

The interesting thing is that nobody has been able to explain what it is. It’s pretty large, so it’s not a seal or an otter. It’s also not a whale or basking shark as some people claim, because they wouldn’t go in fresh water.

Unsurprisingly, not everyone agrees with Campbell, with many claiming that the image is simply an illusion caused by the wake of a boat trail, something that Campbell isn't buying:

When you look at it, it looks like it could be a boat, but on the right-hand side, if you look at the various images taken from Apple Maps, you can see the other boats moored on the shore, which do not look similar at all.

So, what do you think? Has Apple Maps actually managed to capture the best shot yet of the Loch Ness Monster?
