HP is reportedly linking up with HTC to provide PCs specifically for use with the HTC Vive.
According to DigiTimes, the computers will come bundled with the HTC Vive, will be VR-ready, and will boast a “friendlier” price tag than the prospect of picking up a compatible PC and standalone headset.
The cost associated with the Vive and the requirement to have a pretty beefy PC are likely to hold back the HTC Vive. Some market experts predict that the Vive will sell 500,000 to 700,000 units, far less than Sony’s predictions of selling up to 6 million PSVR units.
HTC is yet to comment on the news.
