HTC announce two new smartphones for Ireland

Two brand new smartphones from HTC have just been announced for the Irish market, the HTC U Play and the HTC U Ultra.

The HTC U Play will be available to purchase from Three Ireland from 1 March 2017 with the price to be confirmed, and comes in Brilliant Black and Sapphire Blue.

The HTC U Ultra will also be available from March to purchase as a sim-free handset on the HTC e-store from €749, and comes in Brilliant Black, Sapphire Blue and Ice White.

Some of the impressive features available on both models include:

  • A liquid surface coloured glass design that is ultra-thin yet durable
  • HTC Sense Companion, in-built intelligence software designed to improve your daily phone use
  • A front-facing camera that switches from 16MP high resolution images to a 4MP UltraPixel mode, enabling you to take the perfect shot no matter the lighting
  • Selfie panorama function, for getting the best wide-angle shots this side of a selfie stick
  • Intelligent headphones that adapt to your hearing and provide personalised tuning plus ambient noise reduction

The HTC U Ultra features a second screen at the top of the device for delivering notifications without interrupting browsing, and communicates with the HTC Sense Companion to ensure that the right messages are delivered to you when you need them.

It also incorporates four industry-leading in-built microphones able to constantly listen to you at ultra-low power, resulting in improved voice activation. It allows you to speak to your phone from across the room without having to unlock the device thanks to its biometric unlock function. In addition, the HTC U Ultra’s 3D audio recording provides surround-sound quality for your videos.

We’ll have more information about both models closer to the launch date.
