With Mobile World Congress only a matter of weeks away, many expected HTC to unveil the Desire 826 at the showcase. But HTC had other things in mind and officially announced the Desire 826 today.
The HTC Desire 826 is very much a mid-range handset, positioned to take on the Motorola Moto G. It has a 5-inch display with 720×1,280 pixel resolution, a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor from Qualcomm and 1GB of RAM. The Desire 826 features a 13 megapixel rear- and 5 megapixel front-camera, along with 16GB of internal storage.
A variant featuring an octacore processor from MediaTek has also been developed. However, this particular version is expected to only go on sale in China.
It is as-yet-unknown if the HTC Desire 826 will be released outside of Taiwan. It is expected to cost $190.
