HTC has just sent out invites to journalists to an event in New York City on the 8th of October, and all we know is that its set to be called 'Double Exposure'.
The invite is otherwise pretty mysterious, saying nothing about what might be announced or even whether its a handset. Here's what it looks like, courtesy of Phandroid.
So the speculation begins. With that title, we would think its referring to the fact that the HTC One M8 has dual cameras on the back, with the second recording depth information that helps with a variety of effects. So perhaps they're planning on announing a new phone at the event?
There's also the image of the two women taking a selfie with a HTC camera so another possibility would be that not only is a new phone in the works but it will add something unique to the selfie world. Our guess would be a camera which includes two front facing cameras, letting you do even more interesting things with self portraits. That would be very cool.
But the company has also been rumoured to be working on a tablet for a long time and there's even the chance that they could be unveiling some kind of self-contained camera solution, like Sony's QX range.
Of course, this kind of speculation is precisely why HTC put out such a vague release, and we'll just have to wait like everyone else before we get any definitive news.
The HTC Double Exposure event takes place on Wednesday the 8th of October 2014, with coverage starting at 4PM EST - that's 9PM in Ireland.
