HTC is sending out invites to an event to be held before Mobile World Congress (MWC) where the HTC One (M9), otherwise known as the HTC Hima, is expected to be announced.
The special event will take place on March 1st, with MWC kicking off on March 2nd and running until March 5th. It is expected that HTC will announce its latest flagship smartphone at this event.
The invite itself doesn’t give anything away. It features a tagline, which reads “Utopia in progress” and says “Join us to see what’s next.” How close will HTC come to perfection? That remains to be seen.
According to a benchmark test last month, the handset will have a 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display; a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with Adreno 430 GPU; 3GB of RAM; a 20.7-megapixel rear camera, and a 13-megapixel front camera.
A separate Bloomberg report states that HTC will also unveil a smartwatch alongside the new flagship.
MWC begins on March 2nd and we expect that the major smartphone manufacturers will announce their new flagship devices. HTC hopes to beat some of them to the punch with its event on March 1st where it will reveal what it has in store.
