HTC has a new phone coming out in the next couple of months. There's no official word on it yet but the sheer number of leaks mean that it's all but certain and while there has been plenty of speculation about the specs of the device today is the first time the name has come into question.
A new rumour from a reliable source suggests that HTC might be dropping the convention of One M9, etc in favour of something more streamlined. The word is that it will just be called the HTC 10. It's certainly short, and makes as much sense as most of the smartphone names out there. It's not really the 10th version of anything from HTC but the company will be hoping that this name will be part of what sets the new handset apart, after a pretty middling reception to the One M9.
The specs certainly sound top notch, with special attention paid to the rear mounted camera which is said to be strong in low light with a 12 megapixel sensor. There's also a new look body with more curved edges, which you can see teased in this video - that also could be seen as a reveal of the handsets name.
The other leak is that the HTC 10 could be out very soon - as early as the 19th of April in fact. HTC will almost certainly be releasing official news soon.
