Battery Life remains a major issue for smartphone users. As screens get larger and form factors get slimmer, its often the battery pack which takes the hit - and that can mean you run out of juice right when you need it most.
HTC has one solution in their new Rapid Charger 2.0. Unsurprisingly, it does exactly what you would expect - cutting charging time by up to 40 percent. It uses tech from Qualcomm to top off the battery quicker than ever before, and is otherwise just a normal plug.
This is great news but it wont be for everyone. The tech currently only works with selected HTC models including the HTC One M8, HTC One remix, E8 and HTC Desire Eye. That's because it requires compatible hardware inside the handset to give the process a real boost.
Hopefully, this technology will start to appear in more handsets (and other devices) very soon. There's no pricing for the Rapid Charger 2.0 just yet, but stay tuned to the HTC site for more.
