Huawei’s Mate 8 is out in China today, but those further afield who are interested in the 6-inch phablet will have to wait until next year to get their hands on it.
The device will be unveiled at CES 2016 in January, and will be released in international markets shortly thereafter. The handset will be available in four colours: Champagne Gold, Moonlight Silver, Space Grey and Mocha Brown.
The Mate 8 features a 6-inch 1080p display, and has a fingerprint sensor on the back. It’s powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 950 processor, but otherwise details are sparse. Huawei appears to be keeping things under wraps until the device is shown off at CES 2016.
In terms of software, the Huawei Mate 8 will launch with the customisable, next-gen Huawei EMUI 4.0 operating system based on Android 6.0.
The Huawei Mate 8 will be unveiled at CES 2016, so keep an eye out for that.
