Huawei unveils 8-inch MediaPad M2 tablet

Huawei quietly unveiled its MediaPad M2 tablet in France. The tablet will go on sale in France this month before being made available in other countries next month.

The MediaPad M2 has an 8-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels encased in a metal body. It packs a 64-bit octa-core 2GHz Kirin 930 chipset, 2GB RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. It also has a microSD slot and is compatible with cards up to 32GB in size.

There is an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera along with a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. It is powered by a 4,800mAh battery.

This tablet is the successor to last year’s MediaPad M1. It’s certainly more powerful, yet is marginally thinner and lighter at the same time.

The Huawei MediaPad M2 will be available in silver. It will first launch in France and will be released elsewhere next month. The Huawei MediaPad M2 will cost €349.
