Huawei's next budget phone may feature fingerprint scanner

Traditionally, fingerprint scanners are reserved for premium smartphones. Huawei may be looking to change that as leaked photos allegedly show its next budget handset will feature a fingerprint scanner on its back.

The leaked picture comes courtesy of MyDrivers. The site says that the handset will be priced at just 999 yuan in China. That translates to around $160.

The as-yet-unnamed device will support all network bands. This means that it will be able to be used on any carrier in any country.

Huawei’s vice president Wu Zhou says that we can expect to see fingerprint scanners and this “global connectivity” included on all future Huawei devices.

There isn’t much else to report on this upcoming budget handset. However, Huawei has scheduled an event on June 2nd, so we may hear more then.
