There have been rumours for some time that Huawei would be handling the manufacturing of Google’s next range of Nexus smartphones. Those rumours look more concrete now as analysts in China have revealed the device’s specs.
Huawei’s Nexus device will reportedly feature a Samsung Made 5.7-inch OLED display with 2K screen resolution. This also lends weight to the rumours that Huawei’s Mate 8 phablet will feature a Samsung made screen.
Under the hood, the Nexus will utilise a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, rather than Huawei’s Hi-Silicon Kirin chip. Google may have insisted on using a Qualcomm processor due to its track record.
Neither Google nor Huawei have commented on any of the partnership rumours to date. That’s unlikely to change. However, confirmation could arrive during Google’s I/O conference at the end of the month.
