iOS 8 may have gotten off to a slightly shaky start since its introduction in September but there's a whole new version heading to iPhone right now in iOS 8.1.
The big news for 8.1 is that it bring Apple Pay functionality, though it will only be available on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus for the time being. That's because the service requires elements like the in built NFC functionalitywhich is only available on these two phones.
Apple Pay will allow users to load up their credit card details - from services like American Express, MasterCard and Visa - onto their phones in order to make secure payments just by touching their handset to a card machine. Together with the Touch ID security measures, this could change the way we pay forever.
Right now, Apple Pay is only live in the United States but there are other updates in iOS 8.1 which will benefit everyone. These include a new version of the iCloudPhoto Library which makes it easier than ever to upload all of your snaps to the Cloud and also the introduction of Continuity - a feature which allows you to start something on your iPhone and complete it on your Mac - and vice versa.
Apple has also brought back the regular Camera Roll gallery, something which was missing in iOS 7 and caused plenty of confusion when users tried to find their pictures.
Get the ios 8.1 update on your Apple device now - it's compatible with the iPhone 4S and more recent models.
