As we all know, the interweb is 87% rumor. Or so I’m told.
And what with the entry-level tablet market taking off with the likes of the
Kindle Fire and
Barnes & Noble Nook leading the charge, it was only a matter of time before speculation began about
Apple reaching out to dominate this market too.
The implication is
Apple could release three models in 2012, for each distinct market segment. Reports, based on info from the Apple supply chain, have speculated that the high-end and middle models will both have an
A6 processor. The higher-end model is expected to have a newer, higher-resolution Retina Display of 2048 x 1536 and an 8-megapixel camera, while the middle-market version enjoy have the same 1024 x 768 screen as the iPad 2 does. The lower end model is speculated as being
Wi-Fi only.
‘Speculated’ being the optimum word here...
