While we expect Apple to host an event in October where it will launch new products, the iPad mini 3 may not be released this year, according to new reports.
The Commercial Times of Taiwan cites a supply chain source who says that the device will not arrive until 2015. As always, it’s worth taking this report with a pinch of salt. This flies in the face of what we have previously heard and Apple has a track record of releasing a mini iPad alongside a full-size version. Bear in mind, we also heard that the iPhone 6 Plus wouldn’t arrive until next year, and look at how that turned out.
We’re still waiting to hear when Apple’s event will be. Early rumours suggested October 21st, but The Loop’s Jim Dalrymple, who has a pretty good track record, said “nope.” His post doesn’t make it clear if it’s the date that he’s calling into question or the products that many expect to be shown. The date is the most likely option.
Stay tuned for news regarding Apple’s eagerly awaited event and what the company will be showcasing on the day.
