iPhone 6 Production to Start in Q2?
Reports in China suggesting Pegatron production facility to begin manufacture of new handset soon...

Reports emerging from China are suggesting that the next generation Apple iPhone, popularly dubbed the iPhone 6, could go into production as early as next month, as supplier Pegatron is in the process of hiring new staff to facilitate increased production at its Kunshan facility.

Apparently, thousands of new staff are being trained on the production process, so it looks as though work will commence sooner rather than later. In the past, the manufacture of iPhone handsets was handled exclusively by Foxonn, however a combination of Apple seeking to expand its production scope and a series of negative articles about working conditions within Foxconn plants may have played a role in the company splitting manufacture duties on this latest model.

Apple typically launches new iPhone models in September, so manufacturing starting in Q2 isn't entirely unrealistic, particularly when it comes to working with a new production partner - and the report is given more credence by the fact that this time of year is usually when the first concrete rumours start to emerge about forthcoming Apple devices.

As usual, Apple has had nothing to say on the matter, and they will remain the case until the company decides to showcase its new handset, most likely in late August or early September, ahead of its launch. Among the more popular rumours about the new generation device are increased screen size, but with the on-board camera retaining the same 8MP resolution as the iPhone 5S.
