The tech giant has scheduled a media event for that date, according to Re/code, with all signs pointing to an iPhone 6 unveiling. From Apple’s track record, the eagerly anticipated handset could then go on sale on Friday, September 19th.
The iPhone 6 is expected to come in two sizes: a 4.7-inch model and a 5.5-inch device. The former is expected to be released first and it has been rumoured that the larger model is experiencing delays in manufacturing.
The device will run iOS 8, which will come with some new overlays and notifications, and will focus on health and fitness thanks to HealthKit. This aggregates data from a variety of fitness apps and allows them to communicate with one another.
Apple does not comment on speculation, so we must wait until invitations start rolling out before we know for certain when the iPhone 6 will be announced.
