Irish wearable tech company hits Kickstarter target
An Irish start-up has reached its $60,000 Kickstarter target for a new wearable fitness tracker called Lumafit.

The device is worn over the ear for precision tracking and is designed to bring interactive fitness to your mobile. Lumafit tracks gym sessions, provides interactive workouts and can teach meditation. It also monitors heart rate (without a chest strap) and gives a “heart age” which will reduce as you get fitter.

Three apps are being designed for iOS and Android that will link with Lumafit. Gym Tracker does exactly what you would expect; Home Fitness provides interactive bootcamp sessions; and Yoga Breathing provides users with a 10 minute interactive mindful breathing session.

The Kickstarter campaign is open until June 6th and the company expects to ship the device in October of this year.
