Katy Perry partners with Kim Kardashian's mobile game developer

Glu, the developer of Kim Kardashian's mobile game, has signed a five-year deal with Katy Perry for a game that will feature her voice and likeness.

The unnamed game is due out later this year. What players will do in the game is as-yet unknown, but chances are it’ll be just as addictive as Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. Internet commenters are already hoping that the Left Shark from Katy’s Superbowl performance will make an appearance.

The partnership with Katy Perry makes perfect sense. Glu CEO Niccolo de Masi described her as one of the most recognised musicians in America after her Superbowl appearance. He added, “She is a cultural icon and we expect to translate key elements of her success into an innovative, highly entertaining mobile experience."

Glu found great success with the release of Kim Kardashian’s game last year. It’s thought that sales reached more than $74 million in one year. Can they make lightning strike twice?
