Lenovo will announce a new wave of Motorola smartphones and smartwatches this summer.
Company chairman of Lenovo, Yang Yuanqing, revealed that it will be launching the first devices bearing the Moto brandname since Lenovo officially took over.
He said, “We have many new models in development with the Moto brands, so you may see in summer us launching some very exciting products, including phones and watches.”
Unfortunately, he wouldn’t be drawn on specific details. It’s thought that Lenovo may announce the Moto 360 2, and new Moto G and Moto X handsets. Motorola will be trying to keep to a yearly update cycle for the Moto X, so that could arrive in August.
Regardless of what Lenovo plans to announce, it doesn’t look like the Motorola handsets will stray from Android. Motorola's global sales leader, Colin Giles said that the company doesn’t have any plans to start launching operating systems other than Android.
