Unsurprisingly, the LG G4 won’t be the last in the company’s line-up of G-branded flagship smartphones. The Korean manufacturer was granted trademarks for a range of G series phones up to LG G9.
Of course, LG could abandon or tweak this naming convention at any time. We’ve seen it with other companies; Apple, for example implementing a S version of a handset to keep the numerical value down, while Microsoft skipped Windows 9 altogether in favour of Windows 10. However, it’s good to see that the company is preparing for the future.
The LG G3 is currently available, while we’re eagerly waiting for LG to announce the G4. It’s unlikely that LG is working on smartphones that are planned further down the line.
Very little is known about the G4. It’s rumoured to have ultra-high resolution, but that was practically a given. We’re hoping that we hear some concrete news in the near future.
