LG believes that curved and bendable screens are the future, and it will reportedly reveal the G Flex 2 at CES in January.
The device, according to sources familiar with the matter who spoke with Android Authority, will be a “major upgrade” on the original. It will feature a high-resolution OLED screen and a smaller form factor. The G Flex 2 will also sport the self-healing coating and will reportedly be even better than before.
Previous reports indicated that this “unique” device would be coming equipped with a new feature. It will apparently have a more radical design and be capable of bending even further, thanks to a special hard rubber chassis.
For the unaware, the G Flex is capable of being bent a certain amount before returning to its original shape without suffering any damage. The rear of the device is protected by a self-healing skin to protect against minor scratches.
The original G Flex was launched in October 2013, so we’re almost overdue an upgrade by now. These unnamed sources say that the LG G Flex 2 will be unveiled at CES, which will take place from January 6th until January 9th.
